Jacob Murphy’s Instagram made for interesting viewing this weekend.
The on-loan Newcastle United winger – who won the penalty from which Steven Fletcher scored Sheffield Wednesday’s second goal in a 3-1 win at Charlton Athletic on Saturday – posted several updates from the Owls players’ Christmas trip to Barcelona on Sunday.
Among the highlights were a photo of the team in fancy dress costumes and a video of them serenading Julian Börner with a rendition of the song sung to the German defender by the Hillsborough faithful.
Things took a sour turn, however, when one of Murphy’s followers posted the below response to one of the 24-year-old’s posts:
But Murphy hit back, replying:

But his contribution has been felt, nonetheless, with the Norwich City academy product having scored or assisted a goal every 229 minutes for the Owls.
Murphy was brought to Newcastle from Norwich by Rafa Benitez, in a £12 million deal two-and-a-half years ago.
