Sheffield Wednesday star Anthony Musaba has opened up on his regular chats with Wassim Ben Yedder. The Owls landed the winger from Monaco during the summer transfer window.
Musaba has slowly but surely started to prove himself in England with Wednesday. The Owls may be struggling in the Championship right now but the youngster looks like a useful addition.
The 22-year-old claimed two assists for Michael Smith to score twice in the 2-0 win over Rotherham United recently. He’s also found the net twice this season.
Musaba opens up on Ben Yedder chats
Despite being a young player, the Wednesday star has had quite a few clubs at his age. He’s played for Monaco, Cercle Brugge, Heerenveen, NEC Nijmegen and Vitesse.
It was during his time with Monaco, however, that he played with the biggest named players. Cesc Fabregas is one player he’s shared a pitch with but it was speaking with Ben Yedder that really helped Musaba.
He told Yorkshire Live: “In training, I really talked a lot with Ben Yedder because he’s an attacker as well. He taught me how to always be in the best position to score.
“Obviously I’m a winger and he’s more a striker but he was saying you never know when you’ll change position and he really taught me a lot. It wasn’t just him.
“Players like Fabregas – all the experienced players were always talking to us young players and there were a lot of young talented players at Monaco. It was always good to learn from them and they were always open to the young guys.”
Musaba can keep improving at Wednesday
Given the club’s current plight, a player like Musaba can be a really big asset to Wednesday and Danny Rohl. He’s an exciting addition and one who looks to have bags of talent.
At 22 there is still lots of unearthed potential. The challenge for Wednesday is to keep playing him and keep giving him the platform to express himself on the pitch.
Ben Yedder is a 19-cap France international. The fact that he’s learned so much from him can only help Musaba when it comes to making an impact at Wednesday.
