New Sheffield Wednesday forward Djeidi Gassama has shared his aims for his time with the club.
Sheffield Wednesday recently secured the services of Djeidi Gassama on a permanent transfer from French giants PSG.
Gassama is now at Hillsborough Stadium, and is ready to try and fire Xisco Munoz’s side to Championship safety and beyond.
Speaking to the Owls’ official club website, Gassama has said, “when I was told that Wednesday were interested, I started watching the games and the Championship…I know Sheffield Wednesday is a historic club with a good story. I am excited to get playing and I want to learn with the coach and the team to give all I can and have success with this club. When I visited the stadium when I signed, it was amazing, and it made me want to score there.”
The 20-year-old attacker is also aware of what Munoz expects of him. The Frenchman stated, “I like to score goals, take risks and show some skills. The coach wants to help me learn and level up and I have a lot of determination to give my all.”

Gassama ready to shine for Sheffield Wednesday
Munoz will be aware that Gassama is not yet the finished article. He will need to grow and develop as a player if he is to shine in the second tier.
That being said, Munoz will be equally desperate to see Gassama hit the ground running in English football. Sheffield Wednesday are yet to gain a point in the Championship this season, having so far fallen to defeats against Southampton and Hull City.
Munoz will hope that Gassama’s speed, flair, and directness give his side some of the cutting edge that they’ve been missing. The former PSG man will also need to ensure that he is diligent and performs his defensive duties when he is in the side.
The Hillsborough Stadium faithful will be excited to see what Gassama has to offer. The player himself has the potential to become a fan favourite in Yorkshire if he can deliver on his promise in a Sheffield Wednesday shirt.
