The Sheffield Wednesday takeover situation is ramping up, and now a bizarre offer has been received by the club’s administrators.
Wednesday will hope to be able to give exclusivity to the preferred bidder to try and take over the club in a matter of weeks.
The Owls have been through it all this year, with Dejphon Chansiri running the club into the ground, with players and staff not getting paid and eventually leaving under a huge cloud of the Owls in administration.
Although Championship survival looks bleak, happier days might be on the way soon, with the takeover offers coming in at a frantic pace.

Sheffield Wednesday receives a strange takeover bid
According to the Daily Mail, the administrators hope to make a decision on the preferred bidder by early December, and that will be music to the ears of the Wednesday fan base.
Mike Ashley has been linked as one of the interested parties, and the fact that he kept Newcastle relatively clear of debt should count in his favour.
However, he’s not the only party to express interest, with an unnamed party entering the negotiations with a bid that was completely bizarre.
They expressed their desire to merge Wednesday with Sheffield United and create a South Yorkshire powerhouse of a club.
That was their top priority should their attempts prove successful, but they have already been informed that, at this stage, their offer won’t be considered.
Next Wednesday owner needs to get fans back on side
Given how much angst there was towards Chansiri towards the end of his tenure, the new owners should be welcomed with open arms.
However, it will still be a tough ask to bring back some stability to the club, and the first challenge will likely be to build a team capable of winning promotion from League One.
It’s been a long road to this point for the Yorkshire-based outfit, but thankfully, there does appear to be some light at the end of the tunnel.
Wednesday are one of the sleeping giants in the EFL, and with the right owner willing to put the right investment in the football club, a return to the Premier League can become more than just a pipedream.
