Sheffield Wednesday lost 1-0 away at Bristol City in the Championship on Saturday, with the Owls playing most of the game with 10 men.
Sheffield Wednesday lost at Ashton Gate in what was Danny Rohl’s fourth game at the helm.
And it would be a third defeat from four for the German whose side lost 1-0 on the day, with Barry Bannan’s red card in the first half changing the complexion of the game.
Bannan was shown a straight red in controversial circumstances and should it have been a yellow, and Bannan remained on the pitch, Wednesday may well have left Bristol with a point.
And giving his assessment of the game, journalist Joe Crann posted on X:
“All over here as #SWFC are beaten 1-0. And honestly, that feels unfair on the Owls today. Not sure they did enough to win it, but with 10 men for over an hour they certainly didn’t deserve to lose. Plenty of positives to take once again, even in defeat.”
The Owls remain in last place of the Championship table, with nine points separating them and Huddersfield Town in 21st.

Rohl has only had four games in charge, yet he’s managed to get some new and exciting ideas across very quickly and he’s definitely giving Wednesday fans a glimmer of hope for this season.
It remains only a glimmer with the Owls still a long way form safety. But like Crann says, there were plenty of positives for Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, and a point might have been a fair result for Rohl’s side.
Up next for Wednesday is a home game vs Millwall. The Lions aren’t in a great vein of form and the home crowd should be in good spirits for this one, so it’s certainly a chance to put some points on the board.
