Sheffield Wednesday lost 3-0 away at Plymouth Argyle in the Championship last night, leaving the Owls without a win in 13 league outings this season.
Sheffield Wednesday seem to have been at the foot of the Championship table all season.
The Owls are yet to win in 13 league fixtures, having scored just five goals all season; Danny Rohl has lost his opening two games in charge and is yet to see the side score.
It’s been a turbulent season off the pitch for Sheffield Wednesday whose summer started with the sudden exit of Darren Moore.
Owner Dejphon Chansiri took a fair while to eventually appoint an unsuccessful manager in Xisco Munoz, though the Owls appear to be making some positive changes of late with the appointment of Rohl accompanied by a number of positive additions to the backroom team at Wednesday.
Still, times are hard and they don’t seem to be getting any easier. Last night’s defeat was another disappointing one, and after the game, reporter Dom Howson had this to say on X:
“It took #SWFC two years to get promoted out of League One. All that hard work has been thrown down the toilet through gross mismanagement.”
He added:
“If Röhl keeps them up, he should get manager of the year.”
Back to square one for Sheffield Wednesday…
Right now, all signs are pointing to League One. And like Howson says; two years of hard work have been thrown away, largely by Chansiri for his poor management of the club from top to bottom.
Fans are growing tiresome of performances and whilst the appointment of Rohl and a strong-looking backroom team is certainly a step in the right direction.
But it appears that Rohl and his team will have to rebuild from League One next season. Staying in the Championship would be a miracle and it wouldn’t undo the hard work done by Moore before him, but achieving that seems very unlikely as things stand.
