Sheffield Wednesday have made a decision on whether or not to appeal the red card shown to Barry Bannan at the weekend.
The Owls captain was shown a red card for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity in the first half at Ashton Gate.
Wednesday went on to lose the game 1-0 and they remain rooted to the foot of the Championship table.

The Owls have now made the call to appeal the decision against their experienced captain, according to The Star.
Joe Crann has also taken to Twitter on this debacle. He believes it could go either way based on the subjective nature of the situation.
Wednesday can ill afford to be without their leader and they face a big game against Millwall on Saturday.
At present, the Lions don’t have a manager and it will represent another chance to claim a win in front of the Hillsborough faithful.
Bannan has been Mr Sheffield Wednesday for a number of years now. He’s the captain and the real driving force in the dressing room.
Wednesday have made the right call
Despite a season of struggle for the Owls, Bannan has been in fine form when he’s been called upon.
Both Xisco Munoz and Danny Rohl have let him keep the captaincy and that speaks volumes about the influence he has around the place.
It’s not certain that this will be overturned, however. Bannan’s foul on Jason Knight is certainly up for discussion but it’s not nailed on.
Although there was a defender close to the line, it’s fair to say that the Bristol player’s next act would have been a shot at goal.
Wednesday will now hope that the powers that be didn’t see it as an obvious chance to score and Bannan can be available on Saturday.
