Sheffield Wednesday man Momo Diaby is seemingly stepping up his return to action, having been spotted without his protective boot over the weekend.
Sheffield Wednesday hosted Huddersfield Town in the Championship on Saturday.
It saw the return to Darren Moore and also marked the first game since Xisco Munoz’s sacking, with Neil Thompson overseeing a goalless draw at Hillsborough.
Akin Famewo missed the game but Thompson suggested his injury might not be as bad as first feared, whilst Yorkshire Live also reported that Diaby was spotted at the game.
They wrote that the Frenchman ‘was seen post-match without the protective boot he had been wearing since sustaining a foot-related injury on debut’, which came back in August.
Diaby, 27, is on loan from Portimonense and made his debut in a 1-0 defeat vs Preston North End, and the midfielder throughly impressed before being withdrawn shortly after the hour mark.
It was said that Diaby could well have returned by the end of September, but he remains sidelined and seemingly out for a while longer yet, despite this fresh update.

Diaby, despite having played little over an hour for Sheffield Wednesday, already seems like an important player this season.
He showed a lot of quality on his debut with his technical and physical game making him a real presence in the midfield.
Having him back for the second half of the season at least will be a boost, and if he can return before then it’ll be even more of a plus for Sheffield Wednesday.
Diaby will use the international break to his advantage. And for the Owls, the break is the ideal time for them to bring in their next boss, whoever that might be.
