A journalist has said that Sheffield Wednesday could exploit Birmingham city with set pieces when they play each other on Saturday afternoon.
Wednesday have only won once all season, and are coming off the back of a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Millwall just before the November international break.
The Blues however are still searching for their first win under new manager Wayne Rooney, having only managed to pick up one point in their last five games.
Journalist on Birmingham’s weakness
Speaking on their Q&A session for Birmingham Live, journalist Brian Dick said that he believes that Wednesday could exploit Birmingham for their lack of ability when it comes to set pieces.
“If Sheffield Wednesday get the first goal, and let’s face it Blues aren’t good at set pieces, I could see this being an absolute arm wrestle.”
Opportunity for both teams to get a result
This match does present both teams with a perfect opportunity to get back and running under their respective managers.
Wednesday manager Danny Rohl will want to get him and the Owls their second win of the season, after beating Rotherham United in his first home match in charge.
Wednesday are not very good holding on to leads though, let alone taking them. But with Rohl having had two weeks to work with the squad whilst the international break had been on, you would hope that he would be aware of Blues’ inability to score from set pieces, and that that they may well exploit it.
It will certainly be interesting to see how Wednesday shape up ahead of this game, with Rohl and his coaching staff for the first time getting an extended period with the squad where they can work on his style of play.
