Sheffield Wednesday suffered defeat in their first game under Danny Rohl on Saturday, losing 1-0 away at Watford in the Championship.
Sheffield Wednesday had a new feel, and a new look about them on Saturday.
Rohl made changes to the side following their poor start under Xisco Munoz, and the players looked re-energised.
But it was yet another defeat for the Owls who remain rooted to the foot of the Championship table after the opening 12 games of the season.
Still, there’s plenty of optimism for Rohl’s tenure, which has started with the addition of a very exciting backroom team.
Chris Powell, Henrik Pedersen, and Sascha Lense have all joined and were all present at Vicarage Road on Saturday, and Nico Knaubel is also set to arrive as the team’s new set-piece coach.
And Rohl has suggested that he could look to bring in a new goalkeeper coach.
Asked about that position by Yorkshire Live, which was previously held by Antonello Brambilla who left along with Munoz, Rohl said:
“Yes. I’m trying but we’ll speak about this position also in the next few days. At the moment we have Nicky (Weaver) and he is doing very well. But I have to decide in the next few days about this position.”

For the first time in a long time, it seems like Sheffield Wednesday are really putting some thought and effort into their long-term planning.
And credit may go to owner Dejphon Chansiri which, after a very controversial period for the Owls owner, eases some tensions among the fan base.
There’s still a lot of bridges to be replaced at Wednesday, though another positive backroom addition could help that.
Whether or not Rohl decides to go through with a new goalkeeper coach remains to be seen; Nicky Weaver is an experienced name and Rohl could yet stick with him as his goalkeeping coach going forward.
