Sheffield Wednesday duo Barry Bannan and Josh Windass are in contention to feature in Danny Rohl’s first game in charge vs Watford this weekend, per Yorkshire Live.

Sheffield Wednesday head to Watford in the Championship this weekend.

It’s Rohl’s first game in charge following his appointment last week, and it’s a fairly nice first fixture for the German with Watford having won just once since the opening day of the season.

But for Wednesday, it’ll still be a very tough outing; the Owls remain winless this season but hopes are high that Rohl can at least improve results.

And for the trip to Vicarage Road, Rohl will be boosted by the potential inclusions of experienced duo Bannan and Windass, who’ve both missed the last three.

Yorkshire Live say that the pair are back in contention after they were picture in first-team training this week.

Sheffield Wednesday head to Watford…

Watford have been poor this season. Valerien Ismael’s side have lost three of their last four and have won just twice all season.

But Wednesday have been worse. They’ve got just three points on the board and have also lost three of their last four, going into the break on the back of a goalless draw vs Huddersfield Town.

Rohl certainly has his work cut out and he’ll be relying on experienced players like Windass and Bannan to get his ideas across, and help guide the team through this very rough patch of form.

It’ll certainly be interesting to see how Rohl lines up compared to his predecessor, with Rohl not having too many options to change around, but change certainly being expected.

Sheffield Wednesday vs Watford kicks off at 3pm on Saturday afternoon.
