Sheffield Wednesday reporter Alex Miller has told Owls fans to ‘keep half an ear out for’ out-of-work manager Danny Rohl.
Sheffield Wednesday are without a manager after the club sacked Xisco Munoz last night.
The inevitable names are coming into bookies’ contention; Neil Warnock, Steve Bruce, and Nathan Jones to name a few, with the latter reportedly under consideration.
But The Star and Sheffield Wednesday reporter Miller has suggested that Rohl could well be a name that comes into contention for the Owls vacancy.
The 34-year-old was interviewed in the summer and apparently impressed Dejphon Chansiri and co, before they opted for Munoz.
Miller tweeted:
“No info yet on whether this is to be revisited – but a name to keep half an ear out for is Danny Röhl. Impressed Owls in interview in the summer and got close before they went for Xisco. 34yo, ex-Bayern, Saints and Germany. Newly available.”
As Miller says, Rohl is ‘newly available’. He recently left his position as an assistant coach with the German national side, having held similar positions with the likes of Bayern Munich, Southampton, and RB Leipzig.

Rohl is exactly the kind of manager that fans would want to see come in; young, good experience, and no doubt having new ideas.
Why Chansiri and the club opted for Munoz over Rohl in the first place remains to be seen.
But Miller’s tweet suggests that Rohl could well come back into contention having spoke to the club in the summer and now being out-of-work.
Sheffield Wednesday go up against Huddersfield Town this weekend.
