Yorkshire Live reporter Ricky Charles says he ‘would be surprised’ if free agent right-back Regan Poole isn’t still on Sheffield Wednesday’s transfer radar this summer.
Former Manchester United man Poole, 25, left Lincoln City as a free agent at the end of last season, and he was quickly linked with a move to Sheffield Wednesday.
But given the events of the last three weeks at Hillsborough, Poole’s name hasn’t been mentioned alongside Sheffield Wednesday since.
But writing in a recent Sheffield Wednesday Q&A for Yorkshire Live, Charlesworth was quizzed on Poole and whether the Owls remain interested, to which he replied:
“It feels like a lifetime ago that Poole’s name was first mentioned! But I would be surprised if he isn’t still on Wednesday’s radar. He represents a blue-chip free agent who is versatile and is aged just 25.
“Understandably, you’d expect the Owls to have plenty of competition for his signature but it would be an impressive addition to the ranks if they can get a deal done.”
Poole captained Lincoln City last time round, featuring in all but one of the Imps’ 46 League One fixtures, scoring twice and assisting three.
Wednesday have made one signing so far this summer with Reece James having joined on a permanent deal from Blackpool after his impressive loan spell last season.

A potential signing for Munoz?
Poole is definitely one of the more exciting names on the free agent market and he’ll surely have a number of clubs looking at him.
A step up to the Champisonhip looks likely for Poole this season after his impressive last campaign for the Imps and Sheffield Wednesday would be an attractive option for him.
And now that the Owls have a manager in place they can step up their transfer plans, with the club likely to have the same set of targets as before.
But whether or not the Owls will be able to offer an attractive enough deal for Poole remains to be seen. He’ll have no shortage of interest this summer and expect him to be weighing up his options.
If he heads for Hillsboough though, it would be a huge signing for the Owls.
