A pair of rumoured Sheffield Wednesday targets are set to join Birmingham City and Sunderland instead.
Wednesday completed moves for Jack Marriott and Aden Flint earlier on Friday, the final day for club-to-club transfers until January.
Flint’s move came despite reports linking the Owls with the respective Wolverhampton Wanderers and Chelsea defenders, Dion Sanderson and Jake Clarke-Salter.
And it appears there will be no moves to Hillsborough now for either player.
According to Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider, Sanderson will head to Sunderland and Clarke-Salter to Birmingham, both on loan.

Sanderson’s move would be particularly surprising, given his impressive spell at Cardiff City last season.
As well as Wednesday, Cardiff were one of several Championship sides credited with an interest in the 20-year-old, who is a friend of the Owls defenders Dominic Iorfa and Chey Dunkley.
Should he sign for Birmingham, Clarke-Salter will return to the club for whom he starred on loan last term.
The 23-year-old, a former Sunderland loanee, is a teammate of the on-loan Wednesday midfielder Izzy Brown.
Wednesday are thought to have concluded their business, having signed Dunkley, Brown, Elias Kachunga, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Josh Windass and Callum Paterson, as well as Marriott and Flint.
