Sheffield Wednesday are ‘pitching a bid’ for the winger Andre Green, who was most recently on Aston Villa’s books, according to The Sun on Sunday (4 October, page 59).
The newspaper claims that Green is a loan target for the Owls, and that the Villans will ‘let him out for games’.
The 22-year-old was thought to have left Aston Villa at the end of his contract in the summer, and tweeted the following ‘goodbye’ message in August.

But an official announcement was never made by the Premier League club and his situation remains unclear.
Green, who can play on either flank, spent last season on loan from Villa to Wednesday’s then Championship rivals Preston North End and Charlton Athletic, and scored or assisted three goals in 17 league outings.
He was recently linked with a move to Queens Park Rangers, with The Sun on Sunday adding that the R’s had bid for Green before they signed Macauley Bonne from Charlton.
Bonne arrived at QPR on Friday morning and scored his new side’s equalising goal deep into second-half stoppage time at Hillsborough the following afternoon.
Green, who was capped twice by England Under-20s, came through the ranks at Aston Villa and has played 49 times for his local club.
Wednesday fans – would Green be a good addition?
