Devis Vasquez has arrived in England ahead of his move to Sheffield Wednesday, according to an emerging report from The Star.
Vasquez, 25, has recently been linked with a move to Sheffield Wednesday. The Colombian shot-stopper currently plays for AC Milan where he’s been since January of this year after signing a three-and-a-half year deal with the Italian giants.
But the 6ft 5in goalkeeper is yet to make his first-team debut for the club and now it looks like he could be leaving on loan for the 2023/24 campaign.
The Star are reporting that Vasquez is ‘set to complete’ his loan move to Sheffield Wednesday and that he’s now arrived in England to undergo a medical and complete his move to Hillsborough.
The Owls announced the signing of Bambo Diaby from Preston North End last night before then announcing the capture of Anthony Musaba from AS Monaco this morning, marking Sheffield Wednesday’s sixth and seventh signing of the summer so far.
Boss Xisco Munoz has seen his side bring in Reece James, Juan Delgado, Pol Valentin, Di’Shon Bernard, Ashley Fletcher, Diaby, and Musaba so far this summer.

New goalkeeper – sorted?
Sheffield Wednesday have needed a new shot-stopper all summer with Cameron Dawson the only first-team goalkeeper currently in place.
He has good experience of the Football League but he’s had some poor spells in the past, but Munoz bringing in a goalkeeper with clear pedigree in Vasquez looks like a bit of a masterstroke.
As per The Star’s report, it looks like a move for Vasquez is close to completion and it’ll mark a very productive 24 hours for the Owls as they gear up for their Championship opener v Southampton on Friday night.
It looks unlikely that Vasquez makes that game, but he looks set to become the Owls’ seventh signing of the summer so far – and possibly their most imrpessive.
