An emerging report from The Yorkshire Post has suggested that Sheffield Wednesday fans could get their first glimpse of new signings Pol Valentin, Di’Shon Bernard, and goalkeeper Devis Vasquez in tonight’s EFL Cup game v Stockport County.
Sheffield Wednesday host Stockport County in their first game of this season’s EFL Cup tonight. It should be a more welcome test of Xisco Munoz’s new side following their opening day defeat at home to Southampton, in which the Owls put up a good fight against a strong Saints outfit.
A few new signings featured that night – Juan Delgado started whilst Ashley Fletcher, Reece James, and Anthony Musaba all made it off the bench in the second half of the game.
Valentin and Bernard were unused substitutes in that game and Vasquez wasn’t named in the side, but The Yorkshire Post say that fans could well get their first look at the new trio in tonight’s game v Stockport.

A first look at the Wednesday new boys
With eight new summer signings in the building, Munoz now has a bit of quality and a bit of depth to work with.

It’ll still take some time for all his new players to gel, but tonight’s game it the perfect opportunity for Munoz to give his new boys a run-out and get a look at them in action.
Stockport County will pose a threat still, and Wednesday will of course want to progress in the cup despite an obvious focus on the Championship.
But expect Munoz to utilise his squad and his new players in tonight’s game, with another tricky Championship fixture away at Hull City on the cards this weekend.
