According to The Sheffield Star, both Club Brugge and Sporting Lisbon are looking to sign Osaze Urhoghide in the summer when his Sheffield Wednesday contract expires.

The young defender has been one of the Owls’ standout performers this term, but, as with Liam Shaw, Wednesday haven’t protected themselves or their asset, and with his contract due to expire in just over two months, he’s free to discuss a move abroad.

Brugge and Sporting are two sides that are regularly competing in European competition, be that in the Europa League or the Champions League, so this is interest that Urhoghide will certainly have to think about.

This comes just weeks after it was reported that Leeds United are keen on him.

The defender seems to have a number of options, but unfortunately, none of this bodes well for Wednesday.

With all due respect for the Owls, it’s hard to imagine Urhoghide wanting to stay if he’s got offers from both the Premier League and Europe.

The best case scenario may well be that Urhoghide moves to Leeds or another English club, that way they’re at least entitled to a bit of compensation when he does go.

This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on in the coming months.
