According to YorkshireLive, Liam Shaw has signed a pre-contract agreement with Celtic ahead of an impending move in the summer.
As you can imagine, Wednesday fans aren’t best pleased with the fact they’re going to lose such a talented young player this summer, and to make matters worse, he’s not going to command a big fee.
Indeed, a pre-contract agreement is essentially a free transfer, but due to Shaw’s age, Wednesday are due some training compensation from Celtic, but unlike when a young player moves between two English clubs, the Owls aren’t entitled to a fair fee decided by an arbitration panel.

We saw just last week that Liverpool were ordered to pay a record fee to Fulham for Harvey Elliott, but because Celtic aren’t an English club, they only have to cover the costs that Wednesday incurred from having him on the books as a youth player.
YorkshireLive report that a fee of £300,000 has been suggested, but whether or not that ends up being the final fee remains to be seen.
It’s unlikely that the fee is going to be substantially more than that even if it does increase, and that’s a real kick in the teeth when you consider just how talented this young man is.
The unfortunate reality is that Wednesday aren’t going to get a decent windfall from Shaw.
