Sheffield Wednesday are keen to sign AC Milan goalkeeper Devis Vasquez before the season starts on Friday night. The Owls need a new stopper with Cameron Dawson the only senior stopper at the club.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Colombian custodian is on the radar at Hillsborough. Xisco Munoz is very keen to do some more business before Southampton visit S6 on Friday night.

Vasquez would quite clearly arrive at the club as an unknown quantity. He has been with AC Milan since January 2023 when he checked in from Paraguayan top flight outfit Club Guarani.
The 25-year-old is awaiting his debut for the San Siro-based giants. For his previous club, he made 31 appearances, conceding 44 goals and claiming four clean sheets.
It’s not really clear why Munoz has identified this player as someone who could come in and perform at Wednesday. He has very little experience for someone of his age and perhaps the jury would be out.

Dawson was the first-choice custodian last season as the Owls won promotion to the Championship. He was instrumental throughout the campaign and it would be a blow if he was now ousted.
Wednesday keen to sign AC Milan goalkeeper Vasquez
This would be an intriguing addition to the Wednesday squad. Nobody knows a great deal about him and he’d have it all to prove at Hillsborough if a deal does get struck.
Vasquez does appear to be highly rated. He was called up for the Colombian national team for friendly matches against South Korea and Japan but is yet to play for his country.

Dawson would perhaps be the best bet to start the campaign now. It’s fair to say that his form last season has earned him that shot and he’s Wednesday through and through.
The Owls do need backup though and landing the AC Milan keeper does feel like a risk. If he does get in he will be under pressure to prove himself and perhaps a more experienced option would be more suitable.
