Sheffield Wednesday-linked man Bailey Peacock-Farrell looks set to seal a surprise move to Danish outfit Aarhus, reports Alan Nixon.

Sheffield Wednesday remain in dire need of a new first-team goalkeeper this summer. Cameron Dawson is currently the only one on the books but the likes of former loan man Peacock-Farrell has been linked, as well as Axel Werner and West Brom man David Button.

Peacock-Farrell though has been linked for most of the summer transfer window and he seems like a favourable signing among many Owls fans, with boss Xisco Munoz having failed to rule out his side’s interest in the Northern Irish international.

Munoz recently said about the 26-year-old when asked if he’s a target:

“Maybe yes, maybe no. He is one of the keepers that we have on our list, and I think he could be important for us.”

But Nixon revealed on his Patreon account over the weekend that Danish top tier side Aarhus are hoping to get a deal for Peacock-Farrell over the line in the coming days.

A blow for the Owls…

This isn’t the first time that Sheffield Wednesday have missed out on a target this summer – Panutche Camara being one from just last week.

But if there’s any hope for the Owls here, it’s that Nixon reports that Aarhus are only hoping to sign Peacock-Farrell.

Whilst a deal looks to be pretty advanced, it’s not yet confirmed and until it is, Wednesday remain in the race for his signature.

Munoz should waste no time though and get a new goalkeeper in soon, with the start of the 2023/24 season now perilously close for Sheffield Wednesday.

The Owls open their season with a game at home to Southampton next month.
