According to a report in the Daily Mail, Sheffield Wednesday are interested in loaning Leeds United man Tyler Roberts.

The Wales international hasn’t been featuring much for Leeds United this season, playing just 237 Premier League minutes so far this term, and now it seems as though he may get the chance to ply his trade elsewhere.

Roberts is clearly a talented player, especially at Championship level, after all, he won promotion with Leeds last season, so he would be a welcomed addition at Wednesday.

On top of his promotion heroics, Roberts is also a Wales international, and Marcelo Bielsa has spoken very highly of his talent in the past, claiming that he has undoubted qualities.

“I think as the season goes on he will be able to show the undoubted qualities he has,” Bielsa said after Leeds’ win against Sheffield United earlier this season.

Unfortunately for Wednesday, they’re not the only Championship club in for him.

Indeed, Derby County, Bournemouth, Cardiff City and Preston North End are all also in the race for Roberts, and with Wednesday in something of a troubling position in the league table and financially, it has to be said that Hillsborough isn’t the most alluring destination listed.

However, staying in Yorkshire could be a something of a pull for Roberts and one would imagine he’d be guaranteed minutes if he swapped the Whites for the Owls.

This is a situation that is certainly worth keeping an eye on.
