According to a report by The Scottish Sun, Sheffield Wednesday are one of the clubs interested in Morecombe attacker Carlos Mendes Gomes.
The 22-year-old has scored 15 goals in League Two this term for the Shrimpers, and it seems as though he’s destined for bigger and better things, with a whole-host of Championship clubs keen on signing him.
Wednesday are reportedly hot on his trail, but they’re going to be rivalled by the likes of Brentford, Rangers and Millwall for his signature.
Sadly, it’s hard to see a scenario where Wednesday win this transfer tussle, especially with the likes of Brentford and Rangers keen.

However, stranger things have happened of course, and we can’t fully write of Wednesday’s chances of landing him, especially if this weekend sees them stay up in the Championship.
Mendes Gomes would certainly bring the Owls something they need, and if he was to be brought in, Darren Moore may be able to work wonders with him.
This sort of player is exactly the type that Wednesday should be targeting, and even if they are pipped to his signature, it’s great to see that they’re looking in the right places for new talent.
This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.
