According to Gloucestershire Live, Sheffield Wednesday are keen on Cheltenham Town defender Will Boyle.
The centre-half has been starring in League Two this term, and with Wednesday facing the prospect of losing a number of defenders this summer as contracts expire, he would provide some much-needed depth at centre-back.
Wednesday seem to be intent on signing a centre-back this summer, with Akin Odimayo linked last week.
Boyle would certainly add something to the Owls’ backline, and he’d also provide Darren Moore’s team with a much-needed goal threat, netting seven times for the Robins this term, a tally that would make him Wednesday’s joint-highest scorer this term.
It’s not surprising to hear that Boyle is a goal threat, standing at 6 ft 3 the defender is an aerial monster, and if Wednesday are to play their football in League One next term, that’s something they may need.
A move to Hillsborough may be tempting for Boyle. He’s a Yorkshireman at heart, having been born in Garforth, while he also played for Huddersfield Town for a number of years, as well as spending a year on loan with York, so a return to God’s County could be alluring for the 25-year-old.
