Gary Hooper is considering a ‘mega-bucks offer’ from China after leaving Sheffield Wednesday, according to The Daily Star’s printed edition.

Hooper, who was pictured with several of his former Owls teammates in Los Angeles last week, has been linked with moves to Celtic, Aston Villa and Fulham since Wednesday confirmed his release last month.

And while the 31-year-old is said to be keen on a return to Celtic, where he spent three successful seasons, it is claimed he could be lured to the Far East on a lucrative deal.

Hooper scored or made 43 goals in 88 games for Sheffield Wednesday, who paid Norwich City £3 million to sign him in January 2016.

And despite having spent a season-and-a-half on the sidelines before his return to action in March, the Essex native remained a popular figure with many Owls fans who wanted him to stay at Hillsborough.
