Sheffield Wednesday were interested in a loan deal for Wolves’ Dexter Lembikisa, who now looks set to sign for Rotherham United, according to reports.
Lembikisa, 19, is a product of the Wolves youth academy. Despite having just one Premier League appearace to his name, the full-back is a full internaitonal with Jamaica and now he looks set for his first proper taste of first-team football next season.
A recent report from TEAMtalk has revealed that Rotherham United have beaten a host of clubs to the signing, naming Sheffield Wednesday among the likes of Coventry City, QPR, Stoke City, and West Brom as the sides who were also interested in the Wolves man.
One of Sheffield Wednesday’s only signings of the summer so far has been a full-back in Reece James, but with the start of the new season less than two weeks away now, it’s starting to look very perilous for the Owls under new boss Xisco Munoz.
The Owls seem to have a few names in their radars but not enough are getting over the line.

Problems at full-back?
There’s a few areas on the pitch that are looking very low on numbers ahead of next season, with both full-back positions being one.
James, Liam Palmer, and new signing Juan Delgado are Munoz’s options – Palmer has been nursing an injury in pre-season and Delgado is a more attacking player.
So it’s certainly looking like a problematic position for the Owls and Lembikisa would’ve been a shrewd addition, and seeing him sign for neighbours Rotherham instead will certain come as a blow for Sheffield Wednesday.
But there’s no time for the Owls to waste. They need to move on and look at other targets, with their season opener v Southampton less than two weeks away now.
