Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has two contract offers on the table from teams in Turkey, reports The Star.

Dele-Bashiru, 22, is set to become a free agent at the end of this month when his current Sheffield Wednesday contract comes to an end.

His future was a talking point throughout the 2022/23 season in which the former Manchester City youngster featured 34 times in League One, scoring four goals and coming off the bench as a late substitute in the play-off final win over Barnsley.

There’s been interest from Europe in Dele-Bashiru before, with teams as big as AC Milan and PSV credited with a surprise interest (Sky Sports Transfer Centre, 09.01.23, via The72).

Responding to reported interest from Milan and PSV earlier in the year, Owls boss Darren Moore said:

Fantastic if it is (true) because it means we’ve got a top, top talent on our hands. But at the moment I just treat it as speculation.

But the latest suggestion is that Dele-Bashiru has offers from Turkish duo Antalyaspor and Hatayspor, with a contract renewal offer at Hillsborough still on the table.

What next for Dele-Bashiru?

There’s certainly options for Dele-Bashiru this summer. He’s proved himself to be a very exciting player and yet there’s still room for improvement, so he looks to have a big future in the game.

And there’s a big summer ahead for him too. Whether or not moves to Turkish sides would appeal to him remains to be seen, but it seems like he’s weighing up his next move given the fact that he’s yet to extend his stay at Hillsborough.

Expect Wednesday to quickly move on though if Dele-Bashiru shows no interest in extending his stay at the club. It’d be a blow if he leaves and if he left for a rival side, but as things stand, his future is up in the air and a move abroad looks like a real possibility.
