One of Sheffield Wednesday’s rumoured summer targets faces six months on the sidelines, according to The Scottish Sun.
The same publication claimed Wednesday were set to bid for the Motherwell midfielder as Celtic stalled on a deal.
Turnbull’s Celtic Park move was later back on and off again as Norwich City looked set to profit.
But, several twists and turns later, Turnbull appeared to be Glasgow-bound once more – that is until Motherwell confirmed earlier today that he’ll remain at Fir Park after a medical at Celtic uncovered an issue that requires “immediate preventative surgery and subsequent rehabilitation”.

And he could now be out until Christmas, according to The Scottish Sun, putting a summer move to Celtic, Norwich, Sheffield Wednesday, or any other club on hold.
