Axed Rangers boss Michael Beale is chasing the Sheffield Wednesday job, reports Alan Nixon.
Rangers poached Beale, 43, from QPR shortly into the start of last season. After just 11 months though, the former Aston Villa no.2 has been sacked.
But Nixon has revealed on his Patreon this morning that Beale is keen to make a swift return to management in England and that he’s ‘chasing jobs already’, including the Sheffield Wednesday opening.
The Owls sacked Xisco Munoz earlier this week and Nixon claimed yesterday that the club are set to appoint German coach Danny Rohl after previously interviewing him in the summer.
But it seems like Beale could now make a late charge for the Hillsborough.
With QPR last season, Beale oversaw 22 games in all competitions, winning nine of them, and impressing in the league with QPR top of the Championship table at one point under his watch.
Beale has also held positions at Liverpool, Chelsea, and Sao Paulo, having worked as Steven Gerrard’s no.2 at Rangers and Villa.

Nixon’s report suggests that Beale has put his name forward for the job. But Nixon’s previous report on Rohl would suggest that Dejphon Chansiri already has his man.
Rohl and Beale seem like two very similar appointments; both are young coaches with the necessary qualifications, though Beale certainly has more experience.
And Beale has Championship experience to. His recent showing at Rangers may not have damaged his credentials too much, with his time at QPR having been impressive, albeit short-lived.
Chansiri seems to be closing in on a new boss and credit must go to him for doing it quickly. Though there’s still a long for Wednesday to get right this season.
