Pol Valentin has admitted he is ‘not happy’ after Sheffield Wednesday drew with Stoke City yesterday.
Pol Valentin was brought back into the starting line-up yesterday, having been left out since the 2-0 defeat to Middlesbrough earlier this month.
The Spaniard started at right wing-back and made great efforts to push Wednesday forward as they looked to cut open Stoke’s backline.
Valentin had one shot, won 100% of his ground duels and picked up four free-kicks, but was amongst a very frustrated Owls side.
Liam Palmer’s opener in the second half was quickly nullified by Luke Cundle’s equaliser, and Wednesday were unable to claim anymore than a point at Hillsborough.

Valentin was hailed for his ‘tireless performance‘ as he ‘worked hard’ for the Owls, but was unable to contribute to an important win and was instead left unhappy.
The 27-year-old took to social media to address supporters last night, writing: “We deserved more and we’re not happy with the draw, but this team believes it’s possible. C’mon swfc.”
The key factor that could keep the Owls up
A lot of teams in this situation would be extremely nervous about the possibility of relegation, and no doubt it is in the back of many players’ minds after a result like that.
However, it is quite clear that Danny Rohl has instilled a level of confidence, ambition and positivity into this team that has left them totally convinced that it is not over until it’s over.
It has been their lack of quality in the final third that has so far proven a barrier for the Owls, but there has certainly been no issue with the effort and commitment the players have put in.
That could really be what ends up being the difference for Wednesday too, as the spirits are clearly much higher at Hillsborough than they are at many clubs around them in the Championship table.
It could well be this weekend’s trip to Ewood Park that makes or breaks their campaign though, while they will be hoping Blackburn are complacent after widening the gap between themselves and the bottom three to five points.
