Sheffield Wednesday could be relegated on Tuesday evening if results don’t go their way.

The Owls look set to go down to League One regardless of what happens on Tuesday, but their fate could be mathematically sealed against the Lancashire outfit.

Fortunately, Wednesday can avoid being relegated against Rovers if they get a result, and they will certainly be desperate to do that.

With that in mind, we’ve had a go at predicting the Owls’ starting Xi for this one.

Wednesday may have drawn 1-1 with Bristol in their last game, but if it weren’t for a missed penalty and a late lapse in concentration, the Owls would have earned all three points.

Therefore, we don’t think there’ll be too many changes for this one, predicting just one switch in the XI.

Indeed, Joey Pelupessy drops to the bench and Osaze Urhoghide comes in as a rejig in the middle of the park sees Sam Hutchinson line-up alongside Barry Bannan.

The rest of the team remains the same.

Perhaps the most interesting decision Jamie Smith has to make here is up top, Callum Paterson can be used in a number of positions, so it will be interesting to see where he’s utilised, but we think he’ll keep his spot as a number nine here, leaving Jordan Rhodes on the bench.
