Some Sheffield Wednesday fans have given Josh Windass a bit of credit after his performance against Barnsley on Saturday.
The Owls fanbase certainly had very little to shout about as they were beaten by their Yorkshire rivals at Hillsborough, but one man who did at least impress a little bit was the Owls’ only goal scorer on the day.
Wednesday’s afternoon got off to the best possible start as Windass found the back of the net after just five minutes, but as we all know, things very swiftly went downhill from there.
As you can imagine, social media was a bit of a cesspit of negativity after the match from a Wednesday point of view, but the one small ray of positivity in the eyes of the online fanbase was Windass.
Some supporters were also keen to praise Kadeem Harris at the same time.
SAKA, ANTONY AND 10 PREMIER LEAGUE STARS HEADING TO THEIR FIRST WORLD CUP
You can understand why Windass was the player they highlighted as the bright spark, he was keen to do a lot of running, and he even found the back of the net.
It is strange to see the attackers getting credit in a Tony Pulis team, as the former Stoke City manager is usually famed for his defensive acumen, but unfortunately for Wednesday fans, we’ve not seen any evidence of that so far during his tenure.
Windass played well but Brown will make more chances for him than Patterson will
