Newcastle United have handed a squad number to Jacob Murphy ahead of the new Premier League season.
But another two former Sheffield Wednesday loan players, Rolando Aarons and Achraf Lazaar, have been left off Newcastle’s list.
Murphy, who wore the Magpies’ number seven shirt before his temporary move to Wednesday summer, becomes the north-east club’s new number 23.

The 25-year-old scored or assisted 15 goals in 44 games for the Owls last term and is thought to have carried his impressive form into Newcastle’s pre-season campaign.
Newcastle, though, brought in another winger, Ryan Fraser, this week, to add to their plentiful options in Murphy’s position.

Aarons, who had loan spells at Wycombe Wanderers and Motherwell last season, and Lazaar, Cosenza, were brought to Wednesday on loan by Bruce in January 2019.
