Sheffield Wednesday new boy James Beadle has sent a message to the Owls faithful following his loan arrival from Brighton.
Sheffield Wednesday got their first January signing over the line yesterday, bringing in young goalkeeper Beadle on loan from Brighton.
The 19-year-old spent the first half of this season on loan with League One promotion-chasers Oxford United where he featured 25 times in the league, conceding 29 and keeping seven clean sheets.
Devis Vasquez is now being widely tipped to return to parent club AC Milan after losing his starting spot to Cameron Dawson earlier in the season, with Dawson and Beadle now set to battle it out for the no.1 position.

Dawson has been a talking point among Sheffield Wednesday fans this season.
He’s split opinion on more than one occasion, with mistakes leading to goals in certain games against the likes of Cardiff City to name one.
And in Wednesday’s league position, such mistakes are costly, and it always seemed likely that the Owls might look at bringing in fresh competition for the 28-year-old this month and it seems like Vasquez just isn’t favoured by Danny Rohl.
Beadle though seems to be a very exciting, contemporary goalkeeper who boasts a good passing game; as per Sofascore, Beadle has a better pass completion rate inside his own half than Dawson (92% compared to 88%) and despite averaging less passes per game this season (17.9 to 25.1), Beadle still averages 40.2 touches per game compared to Dawson’s 45.4, suggesting that Beadle spends more time on the ball and is more comfortable in doing so.
So for Rohl who certainly wants his side playing out from the back and starting attacks from deep, Beadle seems like a better fit than Dawson, and it might not be long before we see Beadle given a chance to impress in the league.
Expect Dawson to keep the spot for now. Rohl has shown a lot of faith and loyalty in Dawson so far and if he can perform well in the next game vs Southampton, he’ll no doubt keep his spot going forward; Beadle may be waiting for Dawson to make a mistake or have a poor game.
The Owls return to Championship duties this weekend with a trip to Southampton.
