Sheffield Wednesday could be without Josh Windass and Barry Bannan for the trip to West Brom on Tuesday night.
Sheffield Wednesday have another tough outing tomorrow night when they head to The Hawthorns.
Carlos Corberan’s West Brom go into this game on the back of a 4-0 win at Preston North End whilst the Owls go into tomorrow after suffering a 3-0 defeat vs Sunderland on Friday.
The Owls remain winless, and seemingly without a hope this season. Matters off the pitch are taking a turn for the worse and boss Xisco Munoz is overseeing some really bad performances on the pitch too.
The Spaniard was without experienced duo Windass and Bannan for the game against Sunderland, and Munoz says that both could miss tomorrow’s game as well.
He told The Star after Friday’s defeat:
“It was due to injury. They had injuries in the last part of the week and couldn’t play in today’s game. We will see if they can recover.
“You know Bannan and you know Windass, they both always try to give their 100% to push themselves to play. We will see but it’s a short time… I don’t know if we will be able to have them recovered or not.”
Bannan and Windass have had staggered starts to the season with both having had injury concerns. And whilst neither player has played their best game yet this season, both remain important players and their presence will certainly be missed on Tuesday; Bannan’s especially.
Bad to worse for Sheffield Wednesday
Sheffield Wednesday are looking woeful right now. They don’t look like ever getting a win this season and to make matters worse, club captain Bannan and last season’s Wembley hero Windass are injured.
Munoz won’t want to rush them back and further aggravate the injuries, but at the same time, Munoz will no doubt have them back at the first opportunity.
What to expect in Tuesday’s line up remains to be seen. Jeff Hendrick, John Buckley, Tyreeq Bakinson, and George Byers are all midfield options for Munoz, who is also without Momo Diaby.
Tomorrow’s game kicks off at 8pm
