Some Sheffield Wednesday fans on Twitter have been waxing lyrical about Chey Dunkley after his performance against Coventry on Saturday.
The Owls finally managed to pick up a win under Tony Pulis, and thanks to Dunkley, the victory also coincided with a clean sheet.
The centre-back was making only his second appearance for the Owls, but from the first whistle it was clear that he’s the type of player the Yorkshire outfit have been crying out for.
He was vocal, commanding and passionate at the back, and that’s exactly what you want from your centre-half while you’re in the midst of a relegation battle.

For the second time this week, some fans were calling for the centre-back to be made the club captain, with fans previouslt heralding him as a fantastic leader after his comments on the player’s wages not being paid for the month of November.
Dunkley certainly seems like the type of player that is up for the struggle that Wednesday face this season, and if they had a few more players with an attitude like his, these type of results would be a lor more common.
Here’s what the Hillsborough faithful have been saying on social media…

Dare I say defensively better but against a very average side. Lees, Joey and Shaw good displays. Also make Dunkley captain please. Only one game so let’s not get carried away #swfc
