The Leeds United winger, Ezgjan Alioski, has claimed that he does not know who Garry Monk is.
Alioski arrived at Leeds just weeks after the new Sheffield Wednesday boss Monk chose not to extend his contract as Whites head coach, in 2017.
The 40-year-old led Wednesday’s Yorkshire rivals to seventh in his only season in charge and had spells at Middlesbrough and Birmingham City before succeeding Steve Bruce at Hillsborough last month.
Leeds, whom Monk has beaten on two out of three occasions since leaving Elland Road, are due at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday lunchtime.
But when asked about the third-versus-second encounter, Alioski told The Yorkshire Evening Post: “To be honest I don’t know who is Garry Monk and I don’t watch the coach and what he is doing and what start he has had.
“I know what a team we are, I know what a coach we have and how important he is for this team and he will prepare us like every game, so I will have a lot of information about Sheffield (Wednesday) from my staff that I have here and it doesn’t matter what Garry Monk will prepare against us. I will have a lot of information from Bielsa so I will prepare good for this Yorkshire derby.”

Leeds are unlikely to face their former centre-back, Tom Lees, at Hillsborough as he recovers from a hamstring injury.
One former White who should be involved, however, is Barry Bannan, who had a spell on loan at Elland Road in 2011.
