Lee Bullen responds to fan's plea to get the band - which includes West Brom player - back together at Wednesday

One Sheffield Wednesday supporter’s quest to get the band – which includes a West Bromwich Albion player – back together appears to have Lee Bullen’s backing.

The fan tweeted Bullen, who is Wednesday’s first-team coach, after seeing two ex-Owls, Glenn Whelan and Steven MacLean, combine for Hearts’ equalising goal against Livingston.

He wrote:

And Bullen, who played alongside the Hearts pair and West Brom’s Chris Brunt at Sheffield Wednesday, replied:

Managed by Paul Sturrock, the quartet achieved promotion via the League One play-offs in 2005.

But Sturrock’s sacking in October 2006 signalled the start of a break up which saw MacLean leave for Cardiff at the end of his contract, and Brunt and Whelan sold to West Brom and Stoke respectively.

Bullen left shortly afterwards, but later returned to Sheffield Wednesday as an academy coach before his ascent to the first-team set up at Hillsborough.
