The Sheffield Wednesday assistant manager Lee Bullen gave a tongue-in-cheek response to an Owls fan who asked if the club are any closer to signing a new striker.
Wednesday are expected to try and strengthen their forward line in the January transfer window and have been linked with several potential options, with reports suggesting they are down to the final three clubs being considered by Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah.
Should Nketiah indeed choose the Owls ahead of Bristol City and Nottingham Forest, he could make his debut against Leeds United – the team from which he was recalled last week – on Saturday.
And the 20-year-old’s decision is said to be imminent.
But when quizzed on whether the squad will be bolstered before Leeds, Bullen replied on Twitter: “(The Manchester City striker Sergio) Aguero on the bench again tonight….. he can’t be happy there!!”

Sheffield Wednesday have already seen one rumoured target, Rhian Brewster, join Swansea City on loan from Liverpool.
The Owls have also been credited with an interest in the respective Charlton Athletic, Bristol Rovers and Crawley Town forwards Lyle Taylor, Jonson Clarke-Harris and Bez Lubala, although Bullen’s boss Garry Monk has suggested that any incoming deals done this month will be loans, which would appear to rule out either of the trio arriving.
