Bristol City could be without one of their key man for their trip to Sheffield Wednesday this weekend.
Sheffield Wednesday could tighten the gap between themselves and safety to only one point next time out, having won two of their last three games in the Championship.
After beating Millwall and Birmingham, while also keeping two clean sheets, the Owls will be brimming with confidence as they come up against Bristol City.
The Robins have won two of their last three outings too though and could move up into the top half of the table with a victory on the road.
Liam Manning’s side have a number of important players closing in on a return to first team action, with Mark Sykes and Scott Twine potentially two causes for concern for Sheffield Wednesday.
However, Bristol City may also be forced to play without one key player this weekend.
Manning has confirmed that ‘terrific’ Sam Bell could be sidelined with a hamstring injury, after the forward was replaced on the half hour mark in their defeat to QPR last time out.
As per The Star, the Robins manager said: “I haven’t seen him or the medical staff yet to be fair, it isn’t a good one when someone pulls up like that but until he gets it scanned and it’s assessed, I’m not sure.”
Sam Bell has made 23 starts in the Championship for Bristol City this term, netting five goals in the process. His most recent came in their huge 3-1 win over Southampton earlier this month.
How do Sheffield Wednesday grab the win this weekend?
Bristol City have one of the lowest goal tallies outside of the relegation zone this season, netting 38 goals in 33 games.
However, they also have the joint-third best defence in the Championship too, shipping in only 37 goals.
It could prove to be a rather dull tie at Hillsborough this weekend, but Sheffield Wednesday’s injuries could cause them their own problems.
While Bristol City will be worried about Bell, Danny Rohl has the likes of Akin Famewo, Callum Paterson and Josh Windass all out.
A win against the Robins would be huge for the Yorkshire outfit and could really give supporters some hope, however a defeat on home soil will really feel like they are back to square one.
The impending sacking of Joe Edwards at Millwall also puts pressure on them, with the Lions sat only four points above them in the league table.
