Sheffield Wednesday star Anthony Musaba stole the show once more on Saturday and he’s received praise for his efforts. The Dutchman scored a late winner at Hillsborough as the Owls defeated QPR 2-1 in the Championship.
It’s proved a really successful few weeks for Musaba at Wednesday. He was signed by the club from Monaco in the summer and after being loaned out to several clubs, the 23-year-old will be looking to settle down.
Musaba scored his goal on Saturday in dramatic circumstances. Following some good work from Barry Bannan, Bailey Cadamarteri headed against the post before Musaba fired home the rebound emphatically.

The Star journalist heaped praise on the talented player after his latest performance. He was in the stands covering the game and it’s fair to say that he was extremely impressed with Wednesday star Musaba.
He said on X: “I really like Anthony Musaba’s perseverance…He was having a tough day at the office today, plenty wasn’t going his way, things weren’t falling for him, but he just kept on trucking and trying again. Ended up with the most successful dribbles and the winning goal.”
Musaba will be glad to finally get some roots down and Wednesday have done well to get him. During the 2023/24 campaign so far he’s scored four goals and registered two assists from his 21 appearances.
Another remarkable factor about his current form is that Wednesday got a bargain for Musaba. He didn’t cost them a penny and the club’s recruitment does have to be praised for this deal.
Musaba can thrive under Danny Rohl
Despite his tender years, Musaba has already had a number of clubs. He’s played for Monaco, Cercle Brugge, NEC Nijmegen, FC Metz and Vitesse Arnhem. With that in mind, he will now be looking to settle down at Wednesday.
One thing that will be key for Musaba is having a manager who backs him and plays him regularly at Wednesday. In Rohl, he looks to have found that and he’s rewarding his manager’s faith right now.
Musaba is an exciting player and adding goals to his game is extremely ideal. Wednesday have found the way to goal lately and that certainly bodes well in their fight against survival.
For Musaba the challenge is to simply keep improving. Right now, he’s in impeccable form and he will want to keep scoring goals as Wednesday bid to remain in the Championship.
