Josh Windass has heaped praise on one ‘unbelievable’ Sheffield Wednesday player.
Josh Windass has been extremely important to Sheffield Wednesday in recent years, scoring the winning goal that won them promotion back to the Championship.
The midfielder has also claimed five goal contributions in his last eight matches for the Owls, making him a key part of their bid to stay in the second tier this term.
Windass has been joined by a number of new players following their promotion, with the likes of Anthony Musaba, Pol Valentin and Ian Poveda arriving at Hillsborough this season.
One player that has been an ever-present figure in Windass’ time in Sheffield is Barry Bannan.
The 34-year-old joined the Owls in 2015 and has been a fan favourite ever since, being named in PFA Team of the Year on three occasions, as well as being named Sheffield Wednesday’s Player of the Year in 2020-21.
Bannan is one of a number of players out of contract at Hillsborough this summer, as he approaches his 35th birthday. However, the midfielder is still very highly rated at the club and has been hailed as ‘unbelievable’ by Windass.
When asked what it is like to play with Bannan on the Pitch Side YouTube channel, Windass said: “Good. Really good player. Getting on a bit now but technically he’s unbelievable.”

Barry Bannan is a bit of a hero at Sheffield Wednesday after an exceptional nine years at the club, but has future has been in doubt ahead of the summer.
The veteran has already admitted that he would love to sign a new deal with the Owls, while a recent report has now claimed that Danny Rohl is ‘hugely confident’ he will stay no matter what division they are in.
Players like Windass and Bannan are vital to Sheffield Wednesday – even if they maybe aren’t as flash and as young as a number of others.
They both know what it means to the fans and are very dedicated to this club, while they have the experience and leadership to help the younger ones too.
Fans will be delighted if the pair commit their future to the club and that would be very handy for Sheffield Wednesday, whichever league they are in.
