Speaking to Sheffield Wednesday’s official YouTube channel, Joey Pelupessy has opened up on how the group feels about Darren Moore.

Moore has been the manager for just over a month now, and at the weekend he got his first win as Wednesday boss with two Jordan Rhodes goals sealing a 2-1 victory against Barnsley.

Pelupessy has seen his fair share of managers since arriving at Hillsborough, and he’s spoken about Moore’s impact since coming in.

“Yeah, really good everyone is happy with him, a lot of tactical sessions, technical sessions as well. It’s a little bit Dutch as well. No I am happy with it and I think the whole group is happy with the gaffer, so we need to keep going like this,” Pelupessy said.

The midfielder then went on to speak about what Moore has told him to do on the pitch.

“At the moment he wants me to play in the number 6 position in front of the defence to control the game like a holding player. Of course, I can get the ball and play the ball to my teammates, but it’s important to get me in front of the defence and keep the control. That’s one of my strengths and I feel good in this role.”

Moore seems to have had an impact on a number of Wednesday players, but nobody looks more revived under the new manager than Pelupessy.

The Dutchman has found a bit of form under Moore, and for the first time in a long time, he’s actually drawing praise from the fanbase.

The Yorkshire club still have a steep mountain to climb if they’re to secure survival in the Championship this term, but if Moore can keep spirits high in the camp, there’s an outside chance of the Owls clawing their way to safety.
