Jose Semedo is set to sign a new two-year contract with Vitoria Setubal, according to A Bola.

The former Sheffield Wednesday favourite returned to his hometown in 2017 after being released by the Owls.

And his first two campaigns can be deemed successful ones, having apparently led to various ‘proposals’.

Nevertheless, it is claimed Semedo was scheduled to meet with his employers on Wednesday to finalise the new agreement.

Meanwhile, the midfielder’s former Wednesday teammate, Vincent Sasso, could be set to transfer this summer, again according to A Bola.

Sasso has spent the past two campaigns with Vitoria’s Primeira Liga rivals, Belenenses, having also been let go by the Owls.

But it is claimed the Frenchman has yet to sign a new contract, despite Belenenses’ desire to keep him.

And that could apparently lead to Rolando, the freed Marseille centre-back, arriving in his place.

The report fails to mention where Sasso might end up if he is to leave Belenenses.
