Footage of a Blackburn Rovers player appearing to mock Preston North End’s Darnell Fisher over his encounter with Sheffield Wednesday’s Callum Paterson has emerged on social media.
Fisher has been charged with improper conduct by the Football Association, after appearing to grab Paterson’s genitals during Wednesday’s 1-0 defeat at Deepdale on Saturday.
The right-back had until 6pm on Tuesday to respond and, with his fate still to be decided, was still allowed to feature in Preston’s 3-0 defeat against Blackburn later that night.
The Rovers midfielder Lewis Holtby was taking no chances, however, and could be seen covering up his own nether regions as Fisher passed him on the Deepdale pitch.
Paterson kept a cool head in response to Fisher’s actions, which were not seen by the match officials.
The Scotland international is expected to keep his place for Wednesday at Swansea City later today (Wednesday), although he could relocate to centre forward in the absence of Josh Windass.
