There was no sign of the recent trialist Jesurun Uchegbulam as Sheffield Wednesday’s Under-23s were held to a 1-1 draw by Burnley on Monday.
But SWN have learned that Uchegnulam remains in the Owls’ thoughts, nonetheless.
The Mossley AFC winger appeared in the U23s’ 3-0 defeat against Barnsley a week ago and made a positive impression on the Hillsborough club’s staff.
He was expected to stay with Wednesday indefinitely – although he has played for Mossley twice since then.
But SWN are informed that Uchegbulam was simply given time off by the Owls to accommodate first-team players Tom Lees, Ashley Baker, Jordan Thorniley and Jordan Rhodes against Burnley.

The teenager is now awaiting a decision on when he will return to Sheffield Wednesday, who have spoken to his agent and want him to spend a full week at Middlewood Road.
Wednesday have not been afraid to take unconventional routes in search of development squad reinforcements, recruiting Omar Damba and Osaze Urhoghide after spells at the Richmond International Academic & Soccer Academy and AFC Wimbledon, respectively, within the past 12 months.
