Sheffield Wednesday and Darren Moore parted ways in the summer, with the 49-year-old having since taken charge of Huddersfield Town.
Moore guided Sheffield Wednesday to promotion to the Championship last season.
The Owls had a two-year hiatus from the second tier for which Moore was in charge the whole time. And despite criticisms along the way, he fully won over the hearts and support of Wednesday fans after promotion from League One.
But out of nowhere, Moore and Wednesday parted ways. An apparent feud between him and owner Dejphon Chansiri was revealed and it played out over the following weeks.
Sheffield Wednesday eventually appointed Xisco Munoz who’s since been replaced by Danny Rohl, whilst Moore bided some time, and soon replaced Neil Warnock at Huddersfield Town.
Moore’s Huddersfield Town struggles…
Moore has now overseen nine games on charge of Huddersfield Town.
His first game was away at Coventry City. It was a 2-2 draw and it gave fans some immediate hope for the future under their new boss.
But since, Huddersfield Town have taken just seven points from a possible 27, with Moore having won just one game under his watch.
And things have been worsening. The Terriers sit in 21st place of the Championship table and just four points ahead of Rotherham United after a narrow 1-0 defeat at Hull City last time out.
But the scoreline flattered Huddersfield. The stats showed how much Moore’s side struggled on the day with Huddersfield having just 24% possession, two shots and one on target, and an expected goals of only 0.1 (FlashScores).
Moore to come at Huddersfield Town?
Moore has been in this situation before. He oversaw Wednesday’s previous relegation from the Championship and faced criticism then and again during spells in League One.
But he overcame that and he’ll be confident of turning things around at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Huddersfield may well give him more backing than Wednesday did and so January could be a key time for Moore, whose side sit nine points ahead of Rohl’s Wednesday.
A few wins for the German could bring his side level on points with Huddersfield and so when Huddersfield and Wednesday meet again in February, it could be a fiery game.
