No first-team players featured in the Sheffield Wednesday XI that drew 3-3 with Scunthorpe United on Tuesday, according to the Star’s Owls reporter, Dom Howson.
Wednesday travelled to Lincolnshire this afternoon for a behind-closed-doors friendly.
But despite having to leave nine players out of his 18 man squad for Ipswich Town on Saturday, it would appear Steve Bruce chose not to hand out minutes to any of those currently struggling to get them.
Joe Wildsmith, Ashley Baker, Daniel Pudil, Joost van Aken, David Jones, Almen Abdi and Sam Winnall are among the Owls players omitted from recent matchday squads.

Wednesday’s Under-23s have seen their last two games postponed due to the cold weather, and it would seem that is what influenced the decision to play Scunthorpe.
Jordan Hallam, a midfielder recently signed from Sheffield United, was on target for the Irons, however, the Owls’ goalscorers have not been disclosed.
Meanwhile, Wednesday’s U18 side appear to be in the Republic of Ireland.
