Sheffield Wednesday have been in high spirits for months now.
Things could have gone completely the opposite way had Sheffield Wednesday missed out on three points at the end of last season, but survival has given them hope.
Danny Rohl quickly signed a new contract, followed by Barry Bannan, Liam Palmer, Josh Windass, Dominic Iorfa and Di’Shon Bernard.
They have since signed nine players and are said to be aiming for a top-half finish – a huge improvement on last term.
Hillsborough has been engulfed in positivity recently and it will only get better if they can kickstart the new campaign with a win over Plymouth Argyle.
However, the Owls have now been warned that one man could very quickly ‘ruin everything’.
Sheffield Wednesday owner compared to Deadpool
Speaking to the Second Tier podcast, pundit Ryan Dilks said: “It’s sort of like living next to a volcano. It’s the [Dejphon] Chansiri factor. As positive as everything is around Sheffield Wednesday right now, and it certainly is, it’s probably the most positive it’s felt in a number of years.
“A year is a long time in football, and it’s plenty of time for Chansiri to have a meltdown and ruin everything, because he’s a b****** and that’s what b****** do – ruin everything for everyone else.
“There is one scene [in Deadpool & Wolverine] where they’re fighting in a car, and by the end of the fight, Deadpool’s wrapped up in the car with seatbelts so he can’t move anymore… and I kind of feel like that’s what they’ve got to do with Chansiri so he can’t cause anymore carnage than he has done over the past few years.
“So that would be my concern, but overall there’s a lot of positivity around Sheffield Wednesday.”
Chansiri deserves credit for what he has done this year
There has always been a lot of concern and frustration surrounding Chansiri and he has often caused fans and the club a lot of bother.
However, things have looked a lot more positive on his end since Rohl managed to turn things around.
Chansiri did well to tie the German coach down to a new contract and he appears to be giving him the support and funding needed in the transfer window.
Fans aren’t going to like the 56-year-old anytime soon, but he is doing what is needed and there is no need to bring the spirits down unless he gives supporters a reason to.
Rohl clearly trusts him enough to stuck around and if he can help the Owls to a top-half finish, or even the play-offs, then he is due some credit not criticism.
