Danny Rohl has been told what his Sheffield Wednesday team must do to beat Norwich City tonight.
Sheffield Wednesday are preparing for one of five cup finals this evening as they host Norwich in the Championship.
The Owls are still just a point from safety after beating QPR last time out, but Norwich pose a much bigger threat.
The Canaries will be looking to secure their place in the play-offs after winning four of their last five games.
Wednesday have won only one of their last seven meetings with tonight’s opponents, though haven’t beaten them since a 5-1 thrashing in May 2018.
Sheffield Wednesday can give them a ‘run for their money’
It is a huge challenge for the hosts, but journalist Dom Howson believes Norwich do have their weak points.
Writing on X, Howson said: “Can see #SWFC giving Norwich a good run for their money tomorrow. Norwich are doing well and have some excellent players but their away form is poor (W5 D5 L10). Their defence has been leaky away from Carrow Road. Key for the Owls is to get their noses in front.”
Norwich have been exceptional at home, winning their last eight on the bounce and going unbeaten since the start of November.
However, their form on the road isn’t quite as impressive. The Canaries have won only two of their previous 10 outings and have kept two clean sheets all season.
Norwich are 19th place in the away form table, while they have conceded 39 goals and have scored 33.
Who is under more pressure tonight?
It is still a big ask for Wednesday, but the win over QPR should give them a huge boost, and this is probably the best fixture to kick on.
If they fail to get a win from this evening, then morale could drop again and they will face a real uphill battle.
There are some winnable games for the likes of Birmingham City and Plymouth Argyle this evening, so it is a real six-pointer for Danny Rohl‘s side.
Tonight’s match will be just as important for Norwich in their bid for promotion, but the pressure will be on them to improve their away form in the final weeks of the campaign.
Though with fixtures against the likes of Swansea and Birmingham coming up, they may be more relaxed on their position in the table.
